Art Direction & graphic design

These graduation trigger emails were built as guidance for the overall campaign direction. The emails and modules themselves are clean and the imagery is large for easier mobile viewing. The emails carry forward the elevated look of the direct mail campaign which preceded it.
The first send has two versions, one sent to customers who viewed announcements and the other to customers who viewed invitations. The rest of the emails in the stream focus on both products as well as gifts and party decor.
When these emails were designed, the students who were graduating had just gone through their first full year of remote learning due to covid. Because their last year of school was isolating, we wanted these grads to still feel excited about this important milestone. The fun look of these emails were meant to appeal to a younger audience. At the time, Shutterfly had a very playful and colorful style and was leaning into capturing new customers. We used accent shapes, bright colors, spirited fonts and curved arrows to draw interest as well as occasional waving lines for photo framing.
